No. The ICB does not have this policy. Patients registered with a Staffordshire Primary Care Practice can access Self-refer to the Digital Weight Management Programme
Tier 2 Weight Management service is delivered by Staffordshire Local Authority.
Patients that are within the NHSE Thresholds, of BMI over 40 and 4 out of 5 comorbidities are seen within our Primary Care Weight Management Hub. Patients requiring Bariatric review and/ or surgery are referred to University Hospital North Midlands.

There are currently no Weight Management services being delivered in neighbourhood health centres for Staffordshire & Stoke on Trent.
Staffordshire & Stoke ICB has worked in partnership with the HIN to submit a bid for the Obesity Pathway Innovation Programme (OPIP) funding.

The ICB has received funding from NHSE to cover costs associated with the Tirzepatide prescribing based on the NICE TAG released in December 2024 of £610,000.
Currently the Tirzepatide prescribing is a primary care model and there are no immediate plans to move this into a neighbourhood model.
