Not at this current stage, awaiting national NHS Neighbourhood Health guidance to inform local planning. NHS Herefordshire and Worcestershire ICB have submitted a funding bid for the Obesity Pathway Innovation Programme (OPIP) – should this be successful; we will follow commissioning processes to explore weight management support aligned to neighbourhood health structures.
The ICB has linked with and sought support from the West Midlands Health Innovation Network for the OPIP funding bid, that was offered to all ICBs across the West Midlands.

Worcestershire Specialist WM Services – delivery by Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust. Herefordshire Specialist WM Services – delivery by either Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust or Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust.
a. Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (GHFT) £56k block value for T3 identified within the overall fixed element of the contract. Tier 4 elective procedures approx. £55k (based on 23/24 sus data) and outpatient will be included within general surgery clinics, not separately identifiable.
b. Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust (WAHT) – included within overall fixed element of contract. Tier 4 elective procedures approx., £764k (based on 23/24 sus data) and outpatients will be included within general surgery clinics, not separately identifiable.
This service is commissioned via a NHS Standard contract with GHFT and WAHT – Length of contract 2 years commencing 1st April 2023 with option to extend by 2 years
Gloucester Hospitals Tier 3 – activity for 40 patients
Tier 3 services are commissioned to provide face-to-face support to patients, with some telephone appointments if this is the patients' preference.
As the weight management services across Herefordshire and Worcestershire ICS are not consultant led, they do not qualify for patient choice.
