Question 3
For the weight management services that the ICB directly
commissions, services are not currently delivered in, or immediately planned for, Neighbourhood Health Centres or equivalent. However, as Integrated Neighbourhoods Team develop, weight management services may be considered as part of an integrated approach to patient care.
Devon ICB recently partnered with the Health Innovation Network (HIN) for the submission of a joint Devon and Cornwall Obesity Pathway Innovation Programme Funding bid.
Question 4
Historically funding for specialist weight management services (tiers 3 and 4) has been part of the wider block contracts the ICB holds with the following organisations.
• Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (North and East Devon).
• Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust.
• University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust (UHP).
• Livewell Southwest (Community Weight Management – Adult Plymouth Residents) – as sub-contracted provider, under a contract held with UHP.
For 2026/27, additional funding has been secured, which will be specifically allocated to existing services to increase capacity.
